  1. Hi Mata! Great to see you posting your work on your blog. Which graph did you find the easiest to read? Well done on completing your Maths this week. No doubt Mrs Moala will also check it out. Hope to see you during our Room 5 meet today at 11am.

  2. Talofa lava Mata! I'm Naomi from The University of Auckland and your work on statistical graphing caught my interest. I especially liked how your teachers are getting you to discuss the graphing of data in ways that best suits the problem to be solved. I agree with you on Areta's investigation that both graphs answer the question of how the students travel to school but the bar chart enables the reader to precisely determine how many students use each type of transport. Unlike you, I chose the orange stem and leaf plot for Leilani's investigation. I made this choice because the question asks when students'usually' begin dinner. I needed the graph to quickly tell me when most of the students eat, around the same time. There are 6 that eat dinner between 6pm and 6:45pm - however, I can see how this graph might be less easy to understand than the green table. I would be interested to know how you read the orange stem and leaf plot. Thanks for sharing your maths - I always find statistics interesting! Nga mihi
